Beautiful Swimwear Made in Canada

With the frigid temperatures and extreme weather we’ve seen so far this winter, we thought it was time for some warm weather fantasy.

At Brabary we’re always looking for beautiful new products to bring to our clientele. Known internationally but designed and produced right here in Canada, Canadian-made SHAN swimwear and resort wear is recognized for their soft fabrics and gorgeous artistic patterns.

SHAN was founded in 1985 by designer Chantal Levesque, and by their fourth year they were already winning awards (Miami Swim Show). SHAN can be found in some of the prestigious stores around the world, including Harrods, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Holt Renfrew.

After observing their consistent quality, we knew our customers would appreciate this beautiful and well-made line and SHAN designs are now available at Brabary.

As our vendor it was also important to see how SHAN stands behind their products and their  commitment to customer service. Because they’re in Canada, we can order in any of their products – regardless of whether we carry it in the store – and usually have it within the week.

From design to production to customer service, SHAN is top Canadian quality all the way, and we are so pleased to feature their swimwear and resort wear in our store.

Things to do on Valentine’s Day

This year in Ontario, Valentine’s Day falls on the same weekend as Family Day. This is a wonderful opportunity to plan activities with people you love – whether a romantic partner, your children, extended family, or good friends.

Look beyond the typical dinner and movie and consider meaningful activities that everyone will enjoy. Consider adding some physical activity like ice skating, snowshoeing, or just a brisk winter’s walk to give everyone a chance to keep up with your healthy resolutions for the New Year. Check out the skating track at Arrowhead Park, just north of Huntsville. Or go for a lovely snowshoe in the Copeland Forest, off Highway 400 extension. There’s so much to do in our beautiful part of the world and what a perfect way to show love to yourself and others!

You can also extend that loving spirit to think about how you can help those in need and improve things in your community. Volunteeringwith your kids can be a bonding experience for the whole family that’s full of rich life lessons.

In this month of romance, why not think about how you can bring more love into all of your relationships?

Romance Resolutions

There was a beautiful story posted on Facebook recently about a long-married couple. Every year on their wedding anniversary, the husband sent roses to his wife, with a card that read, “I will always love you.”

When the man passed away, the woman was astonished when roses arrived on their next anniversary, with a card that read, “I will love you ‘til eternity.” When she called the florist, she discovered that her husband had arranged and pre-paid for the flower delivery for many years to come.

While you may have resolved to make self-improvement your focus in January, February is the perfect time to turn your attention towards improving your relationship with your partner.

In her bestselling book The Happiness Project, Gretchen Rubin tackled a new set of resolutions every month for a year. In February, she turned her attention to her marriage, and she included things such as quit nagging, give proofs of love, and leave things unsaid.

What do Rubin’s resolutions inspire you to change in your romantic relationship?

Whether or not you have a partner at this moment in your life, you can always cultivate a more loving relationship with yourself. Try focusing on and appreciating your good qualities, especially when you notice any self-critical thoughts or words.
